Based at The Old Vinyl Factory on the site of EMI’s old vinyl record business, the Global Academy will feature recording and filming studio space, theatres and a four-storey atrium, and has been designed completely from scratch. In the heart of a rapidly developing area, it’s the ideal place for young people wanting a high quality education with a media focus.
50% of our places will be available to students who live within a 5 mile radius of the Academy; the remaining 50% will be offered to students throughout the UK who are able to come and learn with us. The school is non-selective and will cater for students of all abilities.
Our purpose-built Academy will offer all the facilities you need to learn about your dream career. Recording studios; film studios; exceptional educational spaces where you won’t just grow your skills, you’ll grow as a person too.
Over £13 million is being invested into creating the best possible education space on the site of one of the most prominent buildings in the history of the British music scene. The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and David Bowie, to name a few, had their vinyl records produced at this site - the former EMI record building. What’s more, some of the first computers were made here and for generations the nation’s most popular TV sets were built here too. So it seems the perfect environment for students to learn the skills of the trade.
Only minutes from the M4, M25 and Heathrow Airport, we are already superbly located and things are about to get even better.
The Old Vinyl Factory is situated just 200 metres from Hayes & Harlington Station, with trains to London Paddington taking 20 minutes. Crossrail will be opening in 2018 providing even better transport links.
